The Vintage

The growing season was characterized by a winter with relatively few chilling hours and rainfall levels in line with the long-term average. Spring featured two heatwaves, in May and July. Harvest began early, toward the end of July, and yields were approximately 30% below average. Physiological and phenolic ripening progressed steadily and uniformly, allowing the grapes to be harvested early with characteristic flavours and aromas and a balanced level of acidity.

Wine Characteristics

This dry red wine was produced from Petit Verdot grapes grown in a single vineyard in the Jerusalem Hills. Following fermentation and extended skin contact, the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 15 months. It has a deep crimson colour and aromas of blackberry, blueberry, liquorice and leather. The wine is full-bodied, with a long and balanced finish.

Food Pairing

The wine pairs well with grilled meats, particularly steaks, as well as game and rich casseroles.
