The Winery.
Our story begins decades ago when the Mendelsons established their winery in Jerusalem’s Old City, eventually being relocated to north Jerusalem in 1976. When the Guetta family acquired the winery in 2006 it was renamed Jerusalem Wineries Cooperative Agricultural Association and is the only one operating in the city.
We have also upgraded with large investments in our vineyards and the winery, which along with production streamlining and improvements, allows our experienced winemakers to create a variety of quality wines.
We continue to grow and improve while expanding our presence in local and global markets. Jerusalem Wineries one of the largest and leading wineries in Israel, constantly scoring highly in the most important Israeli and international wine competitions.

The historic wine regions in the land of Israel
The vineyards are planted in the Jerusalem Mountains, the Judean Plains, and the slopes of the Carmel. We cultivate the vineyards in full cooperation with the vintners and the winemaking team, based on the world view that the wine is produced in the vineyard and the quality of the grapes is its most influencing factor.
From outstanding vineyards in the Jerusalem Mountains and the slopes of the Carmel we produce wines that reflect the local terroir and our constant pursuit of excellence.
The Head Winemaker
LIOR LACSER.
CEO & head winemaker
Lior brings over 20 years of experience in the wine industry, unending curiosity, and constant pursuit of excellence. He graduated from oenological studies in Burgundy and believes the vineyard should be the center of attention. Lior worked in leading wineries in Burgundy, Bordeaux, and Western Australia before returning to Israel. After two decades in the local wine industry, he joined the winery and currently serves as its CEO and chief winemaker.

The winery’s vineyards are located in the Jerusalem Hills, the Judean Foothills, and the foothills of Mount Carmel. The winery works closely with its growers and winemakers, based on the understanding that wine quality begins in the vineyard and with the grapes.
The Vineyards
Jerusalem Wineries Agricultural Cooperative Association was founded in the Old City of Jerusalem in the early twentieth century. After the winery was acquired by the Guetta family, a family of winegrowers from Moshav Bnei Re’em, it became the only winery operating in Jerusalem.
